The Megababe Edit

Today we’re here to talk about the things you curse your body for. The grumbled complaints as you walk down the street on a hot day. The struggle to find natural ingredients that won’t give you an adverse reaction. Enter Megababe. A brand for women, by women, taking care of the problems that often go unnoticed - like boob sweat, feminine care, and chafing. This past month I’ve been using three of their four products - Thigh Rescue, Megafresh Wipes, and the Rosy Pits Daily Deodorant. And trust me, if I had bigger boobs I’d be breaking out the Bust Dust as well.

Thigh Rescue

The first product to launch in their line, Thigh Rescue is something that has reached holy grail status for me. As a woman with a curvier figure, I’ve come to the realization that I’ll never have a thigh-gap, it’s just not in the cards for me and that’s ok. I’ve lived in hot, humid environments my entire life and often opted to wear leggings instead of dresses because let’s be real, nobody wants to deal with thigh chafe. This product looks like a deodorant stick but feels like the softest soothing balm when applied. It melts on your skin, doesn’t have a string smell, and keeps your legs from betraying you when you’re just out there trying to have fun. I don’t think I’ll ever wear a skirt or dress without this product because it just makes everything so much more comfortable.

Megafresh Wipes

Feminine wipes aren’t necessarily new to the game but I thought the Megafresh Wipes were a great way to expand their brand. These aren’t overly fragranced which is really nice and they keep you feeling fresh. Best part is they are biodegradable and flushable!

Rosy Pits Daily Deodorant

To say I’ve been searching for the perfect natural deodorant for awhile is an understatement. I’d say I’ve spent the better half of the past four years testing out different natural deodorants, throwing them out after a week, and eventually ending back up at Secret because of adverse reactions. This is the absolute first aluminum-free deodorant that I’ve tried that has not a) made me get heat rash under my armpits, b) form white clumps of products under my arms and around the edge of the bottle from application, and c) smelled so strong that I could smell it on my clothes after I took them off. Don’t get me wrong, I want those arms smelling nice and fresh but sometimes the oils used are too much.

Rosy Pits is amazing. It smells faintly of fresh roses, is solid but doesn’t melt into an oil upon contact, won’t pill and keeps me from getting pit stains. As another plus, there is a ton of product in the package so it will last you awhile, unlike other brands I’ve tried that run out in two weeks. I don’t think I’ll ever use another deodorant ever again honestly.

When I first stumbled upon founder Katie Sturino’s Instagram and watched as she launched Megababe, I thought wow, this is refreshing. Refreshing to see a woman standing up for inclusivity among women of all sizes. Refreshing to see a brand emerge that focuses on real hygienic problems that women, regardless of size, deal with on a daily basis. A brand that makes it socially acceptable and comfortable to deal with these inconveniences - like sweat and chafing. But it shouldn’t be refreshing. With the emergence of a brand like Megababe, I hope that a greater narrative starts around care for women and beauty standards as a whole. Keep doing what you’re doing Megababe, I’ll be rooting for you all the way!
