Becca Skin Love Foundation Review
I feel like so many brands launched new foundations this summer, specifically matte formulas. People rave about Becca foundations, specifically their Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation and Ultimate Coverage 24-Hr Foundation. When they launched their Skin Love collection, I instantly was drawn to the Weightless Blur Foundation because of it’s semi-matte finish.
As someone who loves to feel glowy all the time, I typically err towards more luminous formulas. However, I’ve been trying to branch out and diversify to see if matte will work better for me living in a southern state with lots of humidity.
One of the things I love about this foundation is how comfortable the wear is. It goes on feeling slightly thicker than a CC cream and blends out really well, offering light to medium coverage depending on how much you apply. It definitely doesn’t have a full matte finish, but offers a very smooth, velvety look. I also loved how it comes in a ton of shades to accommodate a variety of skin tones. I’m super pale at the moment so I use shade Porcelain which is a light beige with pink undertones.
As for wear time, it lasts pretty well on me for about 6-8 hours when I’m working inside. I haven’t had any instances of caking because it’s pretty hydrating and I typically finish it with setting spray. However, because it’s more of a medium to light coverage foundation, you shouldn’t expect this to last you super long if you’re outside or getting sweaty.
The only con I have about this foundation is that although on their website it gives you shade and undertone descriptions, when you’re shopping in store you really only have the shade names to go off of. Because they don’t have a coded or numerical shade name, trying to find a place to start when it came to shade matching was difficult, especially since I’ve got a slightly cool neutral undertone.
Also, although it is a good sized bottle, because I prefer higher coverage I tend to use more of the product because it’s so buildable which makes me go through it faster. But that’s just my preference on usage.
Overall, I’d rate it a 4 out of 5. It’s a great medium coverage foundation that wears like a thicker CC cream that won’t dry you out. I would definitely re-buy based on the coverage it offers for being so lightweight.
