Best Boyfriend Beauty Buys
Chris is one of my biggest supporters. He’s the kind of person who waits in line at M.A.C for three hours on National Lipstick Day with me. He bought me this L'Oréal eye shadow palette on Valentine’s Day because he thought I’d like it “better than chocolates.” He ventures out by himself into a SaSa store in Hong Kong to buy me some lip balm after I’ve been complaining of having chapped lips. And he not-so-secretly enjoys a frequent sheet mask.
I think he’s secretly been buying me things this past year in a plot for this blog post to actually happen (he’s been wanting a quick feature). So this one’s for you Chris, the best of what you’ve picked out thus far. Thank you for supporting me and fueling my makeup addiction. See below for his five best boyfriend beauty buys (say that five times fast).
Sephora Collection #Lipstories Lipsticks
Who doesn’t love a lipstick that is only $8? The packaging on these lippies are so cute and I love how every one is different. They’re available in satin, matte and metallic finishes in 40 different shades. I won a bet with Chris one day and got the shades First Class, Oui!, Popsicle Lips, and Pineapple Express as my reward.
2. Sam Marcel Lipsticks
I didn’t even know about this brand until Chris gifted me their Angeline Satin Lipstick and Jolie Liquid Lipstick. They came delivered in these velvet packages and the first thing I noticed was how smooth and creamy the lipstick is. I also love how the cap is magnetic. It definitely wears super comfortably, but because it’s a satin finish it transfers pretty easily. A+ for introducing me to brand I didn’t even know about, especially one with such an awesome backstory and mission. Plus it’s 100% cruelty-free and vegan!
3. Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick
Seeing a trend? Chris loves picking out lipstick. These Fenty matte lipsticks are so pigmented and have relatively good staying power. The slimline stick is super compact and helps to give me a precise line without having to use a lip liner. I love how the brand comes out with new bold colors that make me want to go outside my comfort zone (like two of my favorites - Candy Venom and Saw-C).
4. M.A.C Matte Lipstick
M.A.C makes some of the best lipsticks out there in my opinion, so Chris started out on the right foot when he surprised me with this Russian Red Lip Duo. Russian Red is one of my all time favorite red lips that I own, and I use it all the time. Their matte formula stays really well with only a little transfer, and the color always looks so beautiful.
5. Colourpop Sol and Mar Eye Shadow Palettes
When these sister palettes launched I literally could not stop talking about them. Colourpop makes some of the most beautiful eye shadows and these two were so great because they really got me out of my comfort zone with color this summer when going out. I’m a sucker for blue, but I’m still torn on whether I prefer the Sol or Mar palette.
