The Mary Kay Skincare Edit

As many of you know by now, I spent my summer in Dallas interning for Mary Kay this summer! Working in their brand development department, I learned a lot about every consideration and process that goes into making a product. So naturally, I tested out a ton of stuff this summer and accumulated a lot of Mary Kay product. I’ve pretty much tried every product they have and made sure to stock up on my favorites before heading back to Baton Rouge.

Thank you to everyone who voted on my Instagram stories to split this edit up into two blog posts, one for skincare and one for makeup! These are my skincare picks from Mary Kay that have eased their way into my daily routine.

TimeWise Age Minimize 3D Day Cream SPF 30 and TimeWise Age Minimize 3D Night Cream

Two products that I immediately incorporated into my routine this summer were the TimeWise Age Minimize 3D Day Cream and Night Cream. I’ve used both daily now for the past three months and I can definitely see a reduction in how noticeable this one wrinkle is on my forehead. I use the combination/oily formula and it’s worked really well for me living in humid environments and not making me break out.

Mary Kay is known for their skincare lines, and I love how this is such a good line for beginning an anti-aging routine - especially for people in their 20’s! The SPF in the day cream is a huge plus for me as I’m trying to incorporate more of it into my routine.

TimeWise Vitamin C Activating Squares and Replenishing Serum+C

In my opinion, this is one of the coolest vitamin C products out there right now. As glowing and brightening continues to be a major trend, I love how the TimeWise Vitamin C Activating Squares are like a super targeted vitamin boost that you can spot treat, use all over, or mix in with another product. The combo of the squares and the TimeWise Replenishing Serum+C works incredibly overnight to reduce any dark areas I have, particularly from healing acne spots. This stuff is seriously impressive and it’s the only product that I know of out right now that delivers pure vitamin C on application.

TimeWise Microdermabrasion Refine

When it comes to physical exfoliants, I typically like something more intense because I can feel it scrubbing all the gunk off my face. This has super fine exfoliants that I love to use once a week or once every other week to clear out my pores or help clean up healing acne wounds. It can be very harsh though, so I recommend using a very small amount and working it all over your face and then finishing with a soothing cleanser.

TimeWise Repair Lifting Bio-Cellulose Mask

The question that I think circulates the TimeWise Repair Lifting Bio-Cellulose Mask the most is if it’s worth the $70 price tag. For a pack of four, I can definitively say that this mask will make you feel like you have a new face. It’s super hydrating and gives such a good glow, but because of the price tag I think this is only realistically suited for use before a big event.

Clear Proof Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask

The Clear Proof Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask is one of my favorite detoxing masks on the market. Because it’s not super thick and goopy, I find that it doesn’t dry my skin out as much as many others do. I typically use this to spot treat my T-zone or breakout areas and the morning after use my acne is always considerably smaller, less red, or gone completely.

Extra Emollient Night Cream

When I asked people around the office which product was their favorite, the Extra Emollient Night Cream was consistently a favorite that kept coming up. While this is absolutely not a product I would recommend putting on your face, it is the best intense moisturizer for dry or cracked skin on the rest of your body. My boyfriend, Chris, is actually the one who uses this the most and we now call it the “elbow transplant” because it will literally take sandpaper skin and make it feel brand new. Plus it’s only $15!

Satin Body Revitalizing Shea Scrub and Wash

Lastly, I fell in love with the Satin Body Indulgent Shea Wash and Revitalizing Shea Scrub this summer. They both smell amazing, are super gentle, and won’t leave your skin feeling stripped or dry. My favorite is using the scrub right after shaving and then using the wash after!

Though I interned for them this summer, this blog post is in no way sponsored and I truly do use and recommend all of these products!

One of the things I love about Mary Kay is how they empower women to be financially independent and offer opportunities to learn business development skills. If you’re interested in trying out anything from Mary Kay, you can buy from their website or find an Independent Beauty Consultant near you!
